These terms apply to the AyCode app, this website, the AyCode Cloud and the community portal. By creating an account you accept them. You can use the desktop app without an account; the sections on the service, your duties, availability, liability and the licence apply to it. What happens to your data is described in the privacy notice, not here.
What AyCode does
AyCode is a desktop app that starts and displays other providers’ coding agents on your computer. Those providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) are your own contracting parties with their own terms; your prompts go from your computer directly to the provider you choose. We resell no tokens. The AyCode Cloud (phone access, team sessions, encrypted backups, the notes copy, the community) is optional and needs an account. The Windows and Linux versions are marked as beta.
Price
AyCode is currently free of charge, including the account. We charge you nothing. If we introduce paid services later, costs arise only where price and service are shown to you beforehand and you expressly order; the terms shown at purchase and the statutory withdrawal information then apply in addition.
Account
You may create an account from the age of 16. Keep your sign-in details secret; whatever happens through your account counts as done by you until you report misuse to us. Under “My account” you remove ways in and delete the whole account yourself at any time. We may block or delete an account that breaks these terms or applicable law; for serious breaches, without prior warning.
Your duties
- Use AyCode only lawfully: no unlawful content, no infringement of others’ rights, no circumventing technical limits, no overloading or abusive automated scraping of our services.
- You may record meetings only when every participant is informed and has consented (Section 201 of the German Criminal Code); the app asks for this confirmation before every recording. The responsibility is yours.
- For prompts, code, files and content you process with AyCode or send to a provider, you need the necessary rights. Check what an agent changes or outputs before you rely on it: agents can be wrong and can change or delete files. Use version control and your own backups.
- We cannot restore end-to-end encrypted content. If you lose access to your devices or keys, the backup and the notes copy are unreadable to us and cannot be recovered.
Community portal
Posts and replies in the community portal are public and appear under your GitHub name. You keep your rights in your content and grant us only the simple right to store and display it to run the portal; deleting it ends the display. We may hide or remove content and block accounts from writing where they break these terms or the law. Report unlawful content to [email protected]; we review notices without undue delay. There is no general monitoring duty.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to run the service reliably, but for the free services we owe no particular availability. We may develop, change or discontinue features; material restrictions are announced beforehand on this page or in the app where reasonable. Beta versions may contain errors.
Licence to the app
We grant you a simple, non-transferable right to install the AyCode app on your devices and use it for your own purposes, including professional ones. The app remains our property or that of its licensors; third-party notices ship with the app. Reverse engineering is prohibited: you must not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, internal protocols, keys or undocumented interfaces. Mandatory statutory rights — in particular Sections 69d and 69e of the German Copyright Act — remain unaffected.
Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body and health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only where an essential contractual duty is breached, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. The services and outputs of other providers’ coding agents are those providers’ own responsibility. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Ending use
You can stop using AyCode at any time: uninstall the app, delete the account under “My account”. The privacy notice describes what then happens to stored data. We may discontinue the free services with reasonable notice where running them is no longer reasonable.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we announce it beforehand on this page and, where we have an address, by e-mail or in the app. The new version applies from the stated date; if you do not agree, delete your account and stop using the service before then.
Final provisions
German law applies; mandatory consumer protection rules of your state of residence remain unaffected. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Should a provision be invalid, the rest remain valid. The German version is the binding one.
